Being a small school allows students to be in a class with fewer students. Having a class with fewer students allows teachers to individually tailor the curriculum to meet the learning needs of every student.
Smaller class sizes provide the opportunity for a strong teacher-student relationship to develop, fostering a warm classroom environment and a love of learning.
At Vineyard Public School (VPS) we strive to integrate technology and creative thinking into all curriculum areas.
Future-focused learning prepares students across all curriculum areas and learning stages with skills and capabilities to thrive in a rapidly changing and interconnected world. It connects students and engages their sense of curiosity.
At VPS, we know and understand the needs and talents of our students and are flexible when selecting effective teaching strategies.
Future-focused learning environments inspire students to be leaders of their own learning. Students collaborate and use critical and creative thinking to solve complex problems and become mindful global citizens.
At VPS, students participate in a range of sporting opportunities.
Each term all students take part in the Sporting schools program. This allows students to work with expert coaches to experience a range of sports as they develop and enhance their fundamental movement skills and abilities.
VPS holds annual cross-country and athletics carnivals. From our school carnivals, students have the opportunity to join with other small schools to form a small schools team who represent our district.
Students at VPS are able to take part in the School swimming and water safety program in Term 4.
Students require a high level of digital literacy in order to thrive and work in the world. Through the effective integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) across the curriculum, students learn to collaborate, globally connect, construct, apply knowledge and seek timely feedback to reflect on learning.
At VPS, students explore digital technologies within the curriculum. Students can learn about applications in coding, robotics, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and the arts, to develop skills in problem-solving, innovation, critical and creative thinking.
VPS strives to present students with a wide range of opportunities. Students at our school are able to participate in:
Breakfast Club is coordinated by our School Learning Support Officers. The food supplied for Breakfast Club is donated to our school by Food Bank to support all our breakfast needs.
